Insulated Glass Packages
Reducing energy loss is often the number one reason for purchasing replacement windows. Windows are roughly 80% glass, so it’s important to choose the ideal glass system for your home and climate. Upgrading to a high-performance Low-E (low-emissivity) insulated glass package may help further increase year-round energy savings.
Choosing the right insulated glass package for your home can be daunting. For guidance, read our blog, "How to Choose the Right Glass Package for Your Home."
BarrierXP Insulated Glass Packages
BarrierXP combines multi-layered, low-emissivity (Low-E) glass, argon gas and the Intercept Warm-Edge Spacer System.
- Proven to be far more energy efficient than ordinary clear glass units.
- Compare the glass package performance:
- The lower the U-Factor, the less energy you’ll need to heat your home
- The lower the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), the more you’ll conserve on air-conditioning
Optimize your Energy Efficency
Many Barrier XP insualted glass packages meet the latest ENERGY STAR® 7.0 requirements, including our innovative BarrierXP PriME glass package, which meets ENERGY STAR Most-Efficient criteria in all climate zones. Consult your window professional for the optimal glass package required for your home and climate zone.

BarrierXP
BarrierXP combines multi-layer low-emissivity (Low-E) glass and argon gas, along with the Intercept® Warm-Edge Spacer System, to achieve outstanding energy savings.
The Intercept Warm-Edge Spacer System features a unique, one-piece metal alloy, U-channel design that creates a powerful thermal barrier to reduce conducted heat loss through the window. Its sealed, one-piece construction makes Intercept spacers stronger and better at retaining insulating gas than many conventional designs.
BarrierXP ThermD
BarrierXP ThermD which is U-shaped in its design, supports seal longevity and gas retention by allowing the glass and sealant to move with the normal expansion and contraction of the window due to temperature changes. The flexibity eliminates the stress on the sealant and spacer by allowing the components to work with cohesive structural integrity.
BarrierXPsc
BarrierXPsc provides exceptional solar control and thermal insulation without compromising the view. This innovative glass system combines Low-E glass with a third metallic, vacuum-deposition layer to selectively filter out the sun's penetrating heat and destructive UV rays. The third layer of protection makes BarrierXPsc one of the most effective glass systems for achieving solar control, outperforming many soft-coat Low-E glass products that typically feature just two layers of Low-E.
BarrierXPsc Select
BarrierXPs Select is a design distinction you won’t see, but will clearly appreciate. Rather than using a dark tint or extra-thick glass like many solar control products, it incorporates multiple, virtually imperceptible silver layers that counteract the effects of the solar spectrum, yet allow natural visible light into your home. Your windows will have a beautiful appearance that’s also exceptionally effective in reducing solar glare.
BarrierXP TK2
BarrierXPTK2 features triple-pane glass with the Intercept Warm-Edge Spacer System, two surfaces of low-emissivity (Low-E) glass and two air spaces filled with krypton gas. Combined with a high-performance window construction and insulating components, this glass system creates a powerful thermal shield against energy loss and helps reduce noise infiltration.
BarrierXP TK2 Plus
BarrierXP TK2 Plus glass package features triple-pane glass with the Warm-Edge Structural Foam Spacer System, two surfaces of low-emissivity (Low-E) glass and two air spaces filled with krypton gas. Combined with a high-performance window construction and insulating components, this glass system creates a powerful thermal shield against energy loss and helps reduce noise infiltration.
Many BarrierXP insulated glass packages meet the latest ENERGY STAR® requirements. Consult your window professional for the energy-efficient glass packages available for your home and climate zone.
Precision-Engineered Spacer Systems
The spacer system in a window unit works double- time: it improves the energy efficiency of the window and stabilizes the panes of glass. BarrierXP PriME offers two high-performance spacer options.
Built For Your Climate
The ENERGY STAR label certifies that the window is a positive choice for energy efficiency, fuel savings and the environment.
